Alicia is a Santa Rosa native who graduated from St. Rose Elementary School, Ursuline High School and was a member of Tomorrow’s Leaders Today — Class IV. After high school, Alicia graduated from UC Davis with a degree in political science and then went on to law school at the University of San Francisco. Alicia began her legal career at an insurance defense firm in Santa Rosa.

There her practice focused on the analysis and litigation of complex disputes involving environmental and construction defect claims. Alicia joined Merrill, Arnone < Jones LLP in 2005 and expanded her focus to include business counseling. In her free time, Alicia enjoys chasing her young daughter all over Sonoma County.

Ted Grafe is the North Bay marketing manager for Burr Pilger Mayer (BPM), a full service accounting and business consulting firm with offices in Santa Rosa, Novato, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Palo Alto and San Jose. He leads the firm’s public relations services consulting practice, which specializes in providing business-to-business strategic communications.

Prior to joining BPM, Ted directed the media bureau for a national public relations and marketing agency based in San Francisco serving professional service industry clients including law firms, accounting firms and financial services companies. A third generation Santa Rosen, Ted is a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa Class XXIV and Tomorrow's Leaders Today (class number 2!).

Tom has been on the TLT Board since 2002.  He was Executive Director of Chop's Teen Center and has been active in youth issues for many years.  He has contributed greatly to the success of TLT.

Sylvia moved to Sonoma County in 1986 and her focus has been on raising a family, and giving back to the community, spending most of the last 18 years of her available time on nonprofit and volunteer work with an emphasis on youth in our community. She particularly enjoys contributing to musical and educational programs.
Early in 2009, Sylvia decided to continue her lifelong curiosity for learning and began the Human Resource Management certificate program at Santa Rosa Junior College. Having met the Leap Solutions partners through their work with Leadership Santa Rosa, she was hired by Leap Solutions as a project manager as well as intern in the area of Human Resources. Her skills of community involvement, organization and lifelong learning make a strong fit with the culture of Leap.
Sylvia is a recent graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa and serves of on the board of Tomorrow’s Leaders Today. She received her BS in Human Development and Teaching Credential from the University of California at Davis.

In her position as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at First Community Bank, Ms. Fakalata uses her extensive experience to manage the financial, operational, branch, compliance and data processing functions. Prior to coming to First Community Bank, beginning in 1991, Debbie has served as Chief Financial Officer for three commercial banks: Stockmans Bank of Elk Grove, North Coast Bank and Summit State Bank. She is a Leadership Santa Rosa Class XVII alumni. Debbie has served as President and continues to serve in other Executive Board positions for Tomorrow's Leaders Today. She has served on the TLT Board since 2002.

Tony Guerrero is a corporate casualty insurance broker with George Petersen Insurance Agency, a full service brokerage firm located here in Santa Rosa. His career with George Petersen started in 2001 with the development of insurance risk portfolios for technology companies and the development of sales and marketing strategies specific to the tech industry. As a business owner and consultant, Tony has assisted in the development of various companies over the past 15 years to include technology and web applications, as well as providing marketing and venture capital assistance for Santa Rosa start ups. As a graduate of Leadership Santa Rosa Class XXII and advocate for gang involved teens, Tony began helping young men and women as both a mentor and teen counselor in 2006. His commitment to the growth and development of young adults comes from his passion for involvement and his desire to impact the lives of tomorrows leaders. Tony joined the board in late 2009.

Scott seeks and inspires creative, innovative solutions that develop and enhance teams with a focus on organizational values, vision, and mission. With almost three decades of organizational development, management, and human resources experience, his expertise includes incorporating individualism, diversity and growth into organizations' employee, staff, and management development programs.

Scott launched Leap Solutions in 1998. His diverse experience includes human resources, organizational development, facilities management, risk management, administration and finance. This background, combined with his nonprofit and higher-education experience, allows him to bring distinctive and diverse solutions to consulting engagements.

He also teaches human resources and management courses as an adjunct faculty member for Pacific Union College and University of San Francisco.

Volunteering and community involvement are Scott’s passions. His personal service motto is “It takes a whole community to make a community whole”. His nonprofit service includes a focus on childrens' causes, including wish granting for Make-A-Wish; permanent, stable housing for foster children; and leadership development for junior-year high school students.

On May 16, 2001, His Holiness the Dalai Lama honored Scott, one of only fifty individuals from throughout the world to be selected, for his nonprofit service, particularly with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Scott received his Masters of Business Administration in management at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Allison Sanford Allison Sanford

Allison Sanford has been an active member of the TLT Board for over 12 years serving as Program and Marketing Committee chairs, vice-president and president.
She graduated from Whittier College with a BA in Speech and Theater and went on to attain an elementary teaching credential from San Jose State University.
She moved to Sonoma County in 1976 to raise her family. Her work here has included advertising manager for Rosenberg's Department, KSRO/KREO Radio, Sonoma State University and KFTY Television. In 1991 she was hired by Sonoma County Supervisor Tim Smith to be his Staff Assistant. She retired when he did in January of 2009, after seventeen years serving the citizens of the Third District. She is married to Pat Emery and between them they have four children and four grandchildren.

Marc Solomon is Vice President and Corporate Development Officer of Winzler & Kelly, an environmental and engineering firm based in Santa Rosa. He is a member of several other boards and performs community service for several local organizations. A graduate of Duke University, Marc earned his masters degree from Tulane University. He is married to Martha Lavin, a social worker, and they have two children; one is a graduate of TLT.

Assistant Sheriff Rich Sweeting is a 27-year veteran of law enforcement. Rich started his law enforcement career after graduating for California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He was hired by the Long Beach Police Department in 1983, and in 1990 was hired by the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office. His assignments have been a Patrol Deputy, Undercover Operations Detective, Career Criminal Detective, Violent Crimes Detective, Patrol Sergeant, a Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Unit Detective Sergeant and a Patrol Watch Commander. He was promoted to Captain in May of 2002 and was assigned as the Administration Division Captain. In 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Sheriff and oversees the operations of Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Division. Additionally, Rich participates as a board member for other organizations and is involved in many charity fundraising events such as the Special Olympics.

Laura Whiting is an owner of Carousel Carpet Mills in Ukiah focusing on manufacturing high end natural fiber custom carpet with national sales. Laura was formerly the Executive Director of the Santa Rosa Convention & Visitors Bureau and has a background in banking.

She has been a program coordinator with TLT for eight years and a board member for two. She is a past Leadership Santa Rosa class 3 graduate and a member of the Sonoma Food and Wine Center Board. Laura has a degree in accounting and a graduate degree in education. She has 2 college age children both graduates of TLT and celebrated 25 years of marriage this year to John Whiting.

Rod Dole has worked in the Sonoma County Auditor’s office since 1976. First elected as the Auditor-Controller in 1986, Rod took on added responsibilities as the Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector in 2006 when the Auditor-Controller and Treasurer-Tax Collector departments were combined.

Rod has served as Chair of various committees for the Auditor-Controllers’ and Treasurer-Tax Collectors’ Associations, the State Controller, and the State Treasurer. He is the current Bay Area Director of the State Association of County Tax Collectors and is a past President of the State Association of County Auditor-Controllers.

Currently much of Rod’s time is occupied with the newly formed AB 811 compliant Sonoma County Energy Independence Program for which he is the Program Administrator.

Alycia is a senior at Montgomery High School. She participated in TLT in 2008-09 and was appointed to the TLT board in 2009. She enjoys traveling, skiing, photography, and swimming. She has done various community services, one of her favorite being her annual trips to Mexico to work with underprivileged children.
Because of the diverse experiences she was exposed to in TLT, she has a clearer focus on what she wants to pursue in college. She has just finished her college applications and is hoping to attend a four year college next year!

Andrew McKenzie

Andrew McKenzie is a senior in high school at Santa Rosa High. He was in TLT during the 2008-09 school   year, and now is on the TLT board. He enjoys playing music with his friends, skiing, and doing other normal teenage activities. Andrew has participated in leadership and community service activities his whole life. After high school Andrew hopes to attend a four year university.
